Terms of Service.

A working agreement between you and Automatos Labs, Lda. The italic blocks are the plain-language summary — those don't override the legal text, but they're how we'd explain it over coffee.

Version · 2.1

Jurisdiction · Portugal · EU

Section 01Acceptance of terms

By creating an Automatos account, installing a Pack from the Marketplace, or running our hosted service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and the documents linked above. If you are accepting on behalf of a company or organisation, you warrant that you have authority to do so.

In plain wordsIf you sign up or use the hosted product, you agree. If you're signing for your company, make sure you're allowed to.

Section 02Account & eligibility

You must be at least 18, provide accurate information, and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including any agents, missions, or skills you configure.

In plain wordsYou're 18+, your details are real, and your agents' actions are your actions.

Section 03The service

"Service" means the Automatos hosted platform at app.automatos.ai, the Marketplace, this website, and any official client libraries. The open-source Automatos codebase, distributed under Apache 2.0 from github.com/AutomatosAI/automatos-ai, is governed by its license, not these Terms — though if you bring it back to our hosted infrastructure, the relevant clauses below apply.

Section 04Your data

You retain ownership of all data you upload, generate, or process through the Service — including knowledge bases, mission outputs, agent configurations, and routing logs. We process your data only to provide and improve the Service, in accordance with our DPA.

In plain wordsYour data is your data. We don't train on it, sell it, or move it across regions without your say-so.

Section 05Models & API keys

Automatos is bring-your-own-keys. You are responsible for any fees charged by upstream model providers (OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or any other provider you connect). The router may select among the keys you've connected based on cost and capability rules — those rules are visible and editable in your workspace.

Section 06Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to: (a) violate any law; (b) infringe intellectual property rights; (c) generate or distribute material that exploits minors, incites violence, or harasses; (d) attempt to extract our systems' source code or model weights; or (e) operate at a scale that compromises Service availability for other customers. The full Acceptable Use Policy is linked above.

Section 07Fees & cancellation

Paid plans bill monthly or annually in advance. You can cancel from your workspace settings at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not pro-rate refunds for partial periods, but we will pro-rate genuine errors on our part — just write in.

In plain wordsCancel any time, no clawback. We don't refund partial months unless we messed up.

Section 08Open source & intellectual property

The core Automatos codebase is open source under Apache 2.0. Our trademarks ("Automatos", the plate mark) are not licensed under Apache 2.0 — you can use the code, fork it, sell services on top of it, but please don't pass off your fork as ours. Marketplace agents and skills are licensed individually; check each listing.

Section 09Warranties & liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability under these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We do not exclude liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything else excluded by mandatory consumer law.

Section 10Termination

You may terminate at any time by closing your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, with reasonable notice where practicable. On termination, you'll have 30 days to export your data; after that, we delete it from our active systems within 90 days, and from backups within a further 90.

Section 11Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Lisbon, except that consumers may also bring claims in their place of residence.
