Section 01Acceptance of terms
By creating an Automatos account, installing a Pack from the Marketplace, or running our hosted service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and the documents linked above. If you are accepting on behalf of a company or organisation, you warrant that you have authority to do so.
Section 02Account & eligibility
You must be at least 18, provide accurate information, and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including any agents, missions, or skills you configure.
Section 03The service
"Service" means the Automatos hosted platform at ui.automatos.app, the Marketplace, this website, and any official client libraries. The open-source Automatos codebase, distributed under Apache 2.0 from github.com/AutomatosAI/automatos-ai, is governed by its license, not these Terms — though if you bring it back to our hosted infrastructure, the relevant clauses below apply.
Section 04Your data
You retain ownership of all data you upload, generate, or process through the Service — including knowledge bases, mission outputs, agent configurations, and routing logs. We process your data only to provide and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We do not train models on your data.
- We do not sell your data, ever.
- You can export your data at any time as a single bundle.
Section 05Models & API keys
During the beta, after a one-time trial, the AI runs on your own provider keys on every plan, and your provider bills you for that usage. You are responsible for any fees charged by the providers you connect (OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or any other). The router may select among the keys you've connected based on cost and capability rules, which are visible and editable in your workspace.
Section 06Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to: (a) violate any law; (b) infringe intellectual property rights; (c) generate or distribute material that exploits minors, incites violence, or harasses; (d) attempt to extract our systems' source code or model weights; or (e) operate at a scale that compromises Service availability for other customers.
Section 07AI notices & your duties
Parts of the Service are AI systems. Where the Service shows people a notice that they are dealing with an AI, or adds a machine-readable mark to content it generates, you must not remove, hide or alter that notice or mark. Where the Service lets you reword a notice, you may do so only within the limits it sets.
Where you use the Service as a deployer under the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), the deployer's duties under Article 50 are yours. They include disclosing deep fakes, and AI-generated or manipulated text you publish to inform the public on matters of public interest, where Article 50(4) requires it; and informing the people exposed to any emotion recognition or biometric categorisation system you operate, as Article 50(3) requires.
The Service may offer tools that help with these duties, such as AI labels and settings. Automatos AI offers them as help only: it does not take on your duties, and using the tools does not make them ours.
Section 08Fees & cancellation
Nothing is charged during the beta. When billing opens, this section will set out renewal, cancellation and refunds.
Section 09Open source & intellectual property
The core Automatos codebase is open source under Apache 2.0. Our trademarks ("Automatos", the plate mark) are not licensed under Apache 2.0 — you can use the code, fork it, sell services on top of it, but please don't pass off your fork as ours. Marketplace agents and skills are licensed individually; check each listing.
Section 10Warranties & liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability under these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We do not exclude liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything else excluded by mandatory consumer law.
Section 11Termination
You may terminate at any time by closing your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, with reasonable notice where practicable. On termination, you'll have 30 days to export your data; after that, we delete it from our active systems within 90 days, and from backups within a further 90.
Section 12Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Lisbon, except that consumers may also bring claims in their place of residence.
